Haumoko

Two offset forms sit high on Clifton, the upper volume oriented toward the estuary and the coastal ranges beyond. A timber-clad plinth grounds the home and anchors it to the hill. That same timber is expressed inside, carrying warmth through from the exterior.

Outdoor living spaces are placed on different sides of the house, offering shelter in varying conditions through the day. The design came from a clear brief: a client returning home after years living overseas, wanting a considered place to settle back into.

Welcome Home.
